Johnny Vet is the “Everyman” of America’s veterans throughout our history, and Jane is the “Everywoman.” They represent the millions of American men and women who, from 1775 to the present, have kept America strong and free.

Today, fewer than 1% of Americans serve in uniform in our Armed Forces. They carry the entire burden of keeping our country strong and free, while the remaining 99% enjoy the blessings of liberty. Most American families have no one serving and many do not even know anyone who is serving. As a result, there is a civilian-military divide today that separates the 99% from the 1% . The mission of Johnny Vet and Jane is to bridge that divide by helping the 99% better understand the true meaning of service and sacrifice as experienced by the 1% and their families.
